SANKALP Course FAQs
The UGC NET JRF (University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test for Junior Research Fellowship) is a national-level examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for eligibility to become an Assistant Professor and to receive a Junior Research Fellowship in Psychology. SET (State Eligibility Test) is the state-level equivalent of NET conducted by various state agencies such as MH-SET, WB-SET, KSET, etc.
Benefits of Qualifying NET/JRF:
- Benefit 1: At a lower score, say 55%, you will become eligible for PhD admission, which remains valid for 1 year. This allows you to apply for PhD interviews across India.
- Benefit 2: NET qualifiers become eligible to apply for Assistant Professor positions in colleges and universities.
- Benefit 3: JRF qualifiers are eligible for 5 years of research funding and direct admission to PhD programs, including in Central Universities and National Institutes.
Exam Structure:
Paper 1 – General Paper on Teaching & Research Aptitude
Paper 2 – Psychology (Subject Specific)
Our SANKALP Course prepares students for both papers through live classes, materials, and test series.
The GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) now includes Psychology as a subject (XH-C5). It is useful for:
- PhD admissions in IITs, IISc, and other research institutes (Only eligible to give a separate exam for PhD)
- Applying for MSc Cognitive Science programs (This is a separate program than Psychology)
- Eligibility for research-based jobs in some PSUs
Exam Structure:
Part A – General Aptitude (15 marks)
Part B – Psychology (85 marks)
Our course includes full preparation for both parts with mock tests and expert guidance.
