To become a Clinical Psychologist in India, you must pursue the MA Clinical Psychology (earlier known as M.Phil. Clinical Psychology), a 2-year RCI-recognized program. Please note: Some institutions will continue offering the M.Phil. Clinical Psychology program until the 2026 academic year under the older eligibility criteria. You should refer to their official websites for specific details.

Alternatively, you can pursue the Psy.D., a 4-year RCI-licensed doctoral program that also leads to eligibility as a Clinical Psychologist.

There is also the 1-year Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology (PGDCP), an RCI-approved course to become an Associate Clinical Psychologist.
